The ƎXL GP overcomes this through equine-first engineering:

Low-Profile ƎXL Tree: Built on a broad, flatter tree profile featuring a wider gullet arch and set-back tree points. This prevents the tree from pinching the broad base of the wither or jamming against large, active scapulas.

Broad Bearing Surface Panels: Lined with 100% pure wool flocking, the low-profile panels sit flat and flush against the horse's back. This distributes rider weight evenly over a wide surface area, drastically reducing peak pressure points along the spine.

Anti-Slip Stability: The wide channel, flat panel construction, and specialized girthing options keep the saddle anchored securely, making lateral slipping or forward movement a thing of the past—even on barrel-shaped or low-withered horses.

Key Features for the Rider

Slim Twist in a Wide Saddle: Traditionally, a saddle wide enough to fit a cob forces the rider's hips into an uncomfortable, wide position. The ƎXL tree features a cleverly designed, narrow twist that allows the rider's leg to hang naturally and drop straight down.

Balanced All-Round Flap Cut: Thoughtfully angled to accommodate a shorter stirrup length for jumping, hacking, and low-level cross-country, while remaining comfortable for flatwork and longer arena sessions.

Supple Premium English Leather: Handcrafted from top-grade, hand-selected English leather that provides superb natural grip, immediate seat softness, and long-lasting durability.

Customizable Leg Support: Features supportive knee and thigh blocks to anchor the lower leg and build confidence over fences or during unpredicted movements out on the trail.

Conformation & Fit Guide

The Ideal ƎXL GP is best suited to horses with the following anatomical profile:

Cob & Native Conformations: Welsh section Ds, Connemaras, Irish Cobs, Haflingers, and Highland ponies.

Wide, Flat Backs: Horses with a straight topline, table-top back, or minimal wither-to-spine differential.

Loaded Shoulders & Round Barrels: Horses that traditionally push standard GP saddles forward or cause saddles to roll during mounting and tight turns.

Specifications

Model

Ideal ƎXL GP (General Purpose)

Tree Profile

ƎXL Cob / Wide Tree Architecture

Gullet

Interchangeable EGP gullet system

Panel Fill

100% Pure Wool Flocked

Material

Hand-Selected Premium English Leather

Applications

General Riding, Hacking, Trail Riding, Show Jumping, Flatwork, Hunting
