Confirm & Courier

Once we have agreed on the target sale price, we make the logistics of getting your saddle to us as simple and secure as possible.

  • Prepaid Courier Ticket: You don't need to worry about booking your own freight. After the price is confirmed, we will send a prepaid courier ticket with NZ Post, directly to your email.
  • Safe Transit: Simply pack your saddle securely (we recommend a sturdy box with plenty of padding) and attach the provided label.
  • Door-to-Door Convenience: Once packed, your saddle is ready to be sent to us. This tracked service ensures your saddle is monitored every step of the way until it reaches our hands for its professional safety inspection.

Pre-Sale Safety & Integrity Inspection

When you consign a saddle with us, our first priority is ensuring the safety of the future horse and rider. Every saddle undergoes a mandatory professional inspection to identify any "hidden" structural compromises—such as tree fractures, sheared rivets, or failing stitching—that could lead to catastrophic failure during use.

Modern saddles featuring injection-molded or polymer trees are engineered for high durability and consistent symmetry. Because these materials are non-organic, they do not warp like wood; however, they can develop stress fractures or "fatigue" over time.

  • Our Process: We perform a high-pressure stress test to check for structural memory and torsional flex. We verify that the composite remains rigid where required and flexible through the rails, ensuring no "bottoming out" or internal snapping has occurred. Because these trees can typically be assessed without a full tear-down, we offer this inspection at a lower rate.

Saddles with Wooden Spring Trees | $80

Traditional wooden trees are complex, multi-layered structures reinforced with steel. Over time, wood can rot, warp, or develop hairline cracks that are completely invisible from the outside.

  • Our Process: To guarantee safety, we perform a deep-access inspection. This involves removing the lining and panels to facilitate a full visual assessment of the wood and steel components. We document this with photos for your records. This labor-intensive process is the only way to confirm that the "heart" of a wooden saddle is still sound and symmetrical.

Terms & Fees

  • Payment: All inspection fees are inclusive of GST.
  • Settlement: Fees are conveniently deducted from the final sale proceeds. If the saddle is withdrawn or remains unsold, the fee is payable upon the return of the equipment.
  • Reporting: If any structural issues or safety risks are identified, you will be provided with a detailed report and photographic evidence.

This guided process helps purchasers navigate measurements, tree types, and seat styles to find the right saddle from afar, minimizing the guesswork and the need for multiple returns.
  • National Fitting Network: You are never on your own when it comes to fit. We maintain an extensive national network of qualified saddle fitters available throughout the country.
