The Kent & Masters S-Series Universal GP is a premium English general purpose saddle, expertly handcrafted in Walsall, England by qualified Master Saddlers. This particular model features the high wither gusset panel configuration, making it specifically designed for horses with prominent wither profiles.
An alternative to the Compact GP, this Universal model offers a wider, flatter seat that provides 'more room' and will suit riders who prefer a less restrictive feel or those who are slightly wider in the hips.
Horse Conformation Suitability
This high wither Universal GP saddle is specifically designed for horses with:
High withers: Tall and sharply defined withers that require sufficient gullet clearance and elevated pommel height
Roofy or A-framed back shape: Where the spine is the highest point, sloping down sharply to the ribs
Narrow to medium body width: Horses with more angular conformation typical of Thoroughbreds and sport horses
Prominent wither profiles: Including 'shark fin' or 'camel' wither conformations
The high wither gusset panel provides extra depth and support behind the shoulder, filling potential hollow areas (wither pockets) while ensuring the saddle sits correctly without pinching or pressure points.

5 | Brand New: Pristine condition, often with tags still attached. Showroom quality with zero wear.
4 | Very good: Lightly used with minimal signs of wear (like faint stirrup leather marks). The leather is supple, the tree is sound, and it has been exceptionally well cared for.
3 | Good: Showing standard, normal signs of regular use. May have cosmetic scuffs, moderate stirrup leather wear, or slight discoloration, but it is entirely structurally sound and ready to ride.
2 | Fair: Well-loved with noticeable wear. May have deeper scratches, heavier leather fading, or minor cosmetic blemishes, but the tree and safety components are completely intact. A great budget-friendly, functional option.
1 | As-Is / TLC Needed: Heavy wear or significant cosmetic damage. May need minor repairs (like flocking, a new billet, or stitching) before hitting the trails. Still functional, but priced accordingly.
