The NSC Elite Mono is a premium dressage saddle featuring innovative monoflap design that eliminates the bulk of traditional double flaps, providing exceptional close contact feel between rider and horse. This saddle is specifically designed for warmblood-shaped horses with medium to low withers and medium curve to flatter backs.
Key Benefits
- Close Contact Feel: Single-flap construction allows your leg to lie directly against the horse for enhanced communication
- Open Seat Design: Allows riders to find their natural balance without being overly restricted or "trapped"
- Shorter Flap Length: Regular flap is intentionally shorter than traditional European styles, favored by NZ riders for maximum leg contact
- Adjustable Tree: Wooden laminated spring tree can be adjusted by qualified fitters
- Wool Flocked Panels: Highly adjustable panels accommodate changes in horse's back shape and muscle development
Horse Suitability
This saddle is ideally suited for horses with:
- Wither Shape: Medium to low withers (provides good clearance without excessive cutback)
- Back Profile: Medium curve to flatter backs - the classic "warmblood shape"
- Width: Good width through the back with moderately curved topline
- Panel Adaptability: Wool-flocked panels can handle mild asymmetry and ensure proper spinal clearance
Important Note: Saddle fitting is crucial. While a saddle model may be designed for a specific horse type, it's always recommended to have a professional saddle fitter assess both the horse and rider to ensure the best possible fit.
