About This Saddle
The Stübben Genesis CS Delux Biomex Seat is a premium double-flap dressage saddle designed for experienced, classically trained riders who demand exceptional comfort and refined communication with their horse. Handcrafted in Germany using traditional methods and high-quality materials, this saddle represents the pinnacle of classical dressage saddle design.
Saddle Type & Design Philosophy
This is a classical dressage saddle built on principles that emphasize harmony between horse and rider. The Genesis Spezial line is specifically engineered for riders with a well-schooled seat who prioritize feel and connection over security features. The deliberate omission of knee blocks allows maximum freedom of movement and promotes an independent, balanced position.
Ideal Horse Conformation
The 31cm (Medium-Wide) tree width and short panel rib design make this saddle particularly well-suited to:
Medium to High Withers: The short panel rib allows the saddle to sit close to the horse's back, providing excellent contact and feel. This design works well for horses with well-defined withers that benefit from close-fitting saddles.
Curved to Roofy Back Shapes: The classic twist and balanced tree design accommodate horses with moderate to pronounced back curves. The saddle's rock provides good weight distribution for horses with more defined spinal toplines.
Horses with Average to Narrow Body Shapes: The Medium-Wide tree width suits horses that are not overly broad or barrel-shaped, making it ideal for Thoroughbreds, Warmbloods with refined builds, and similar types.
Key Benefits & Features
Biomex Technology: The integrated Biomex seat system reduces pressure on the rider's spine and seat bones, absorbs shock effectively, and ensures even weight distribution—particularly beneficial for longer rides and riders with back sensitivities.
Close Contact Design: The short panel rib and billet strap system secure the panels close to the horse's back, enhancing the rider's ability to feel and follow the horse's movement for calm, accurate aids.
Superior Craftsmanship: Handcrafted in the Stübben manufactory in Kempen, Germany, using only carefully selected, high-quality materials. The Biomex technology and soft knee roll require exceptional precision and craftsmanship.
Adjustability: Features TreeClix saddle adjustment system (adjustable in small steps from 5mm to 3.5cm) and tree width adjustment capability (up to 2cm narrower or wider) for customized fit.
Refined Aesthetics: Clean, timeless design that complements the refined character of classical dressage.
Rider Suitability
This saddle is designed for experienced dressage riders with an established, independent seat. It is not recommended for beginners or riders still developing their position, as the lack of security features requires confidence and balance. Ideal for riders who value feel and connection over support, and who are committed to classical training principles.
Important Note: Saddle fitting is crucial. While a saddle model may be designed for a specific horse type, it's always recommended to have a professional saddle fitter assess both the horse and rider to ensure the best possible fit.
5 | Brand New: Pristine condition, often with tags still attached. Showroom quality with zero wear.
4 | Very good: Lightly used with minimal signs of wear (like faint stirrup leather marks). The leather is supple, the tree is sound, and it has been exceptionally well cared for.
3 | Good: Showing standard, normal signs of regular use. May have cosmetic scuffs, moderate stirrup leather wear, or slight discoloration, but it is entirely structurally sound and ready to ride.
2 | Fair: Well-loved with noticeable wear. May have deeper scratches, heavier leather fading, or minor cosmetic blemishes, but the tree and safety components are completely intact. A great budget-friendly, functional option.
1 | As-Is / TLC Needed: Heavy wear or significant cosmetic damage. May need minor repairs (like flocking, a new billet, or stitching) before hitting the trails. Still functional, but priced accordingly.
